MIM #50: Shaker Card
Here is my take on this week’s Make It Monday Challenge:
I have never made a shaker card before so this was a new technique for me. The technique seemed simple enough thanks to the great video by Heather Nichols, but I had such a big creative mental block this week that I had a hard time coming up with something to make, thus this really late post. But I pushed through and am pretty pleased with how it turned out. I used my PTI Butterfly and Signature Series: Butterfly dies and some random beads I found in my craft box to make the shaker element. I used the Background Basics: Text Style II stamp set to create the background panel and inked the edges with a little bit of Wheat ink from VersaMagic. The panel was then mounted onto the card with some foam adhesive. I stamped a sentiment from the Mat Stack 2 Collection on a strip of cardstock and notched one end and adhered that to the background panel. That strip also had the smallest polka dots stamped from Polka Dot Basics II for a little added interest. I finished it off with a few black rhinestones. Considering how the creative juices weren’t exactly flowing this week I think it turned out alright. What do you think? Thanks for stopping by!
