PTI Boutique Accessory Challenge

by cbaptista on 02/14/2013

The challenge today at PTI is to create a homemade accessory of some sort.  So, I took a tiny break from card making and made some felt flower hair clips…okay, a lot of them.  They were SO easy to make.  And, so fast to assemble when you have all the flower pieces ready to go, especially those tri-colored ones!  These will make great gifts to some little girls I know.  I think the flat ones would make some cute bookmarks too!

Mini Felt Flower Blooms: I folded 4 of the middle sized Beautiful Blooms felt flowers into fourths and sewed them onto a 5th die cut flower.  Then I sewed a button through all of the layers.  The blooms were hot glued on a small alligator clip covered with ribbon.  This method of making these flowers is found here on Nichole Heady’s blog.

Large Felt Flower Blooms: Same method as making the Mini Felt Flower Blooms only using the largest flower.

Tri-colored Felt Flowers: I stacked two of each size Beautiful Blooms II felt flowers and sewed a button through all the layers.  The flower is hot glued on an alligator clip covered with ribbon. VERY easy to do.

I got a little carried away making these!  They were SO fun to make and a very good change of pace from making cards!  lol

Thanks for stopping by!
