Site Issues & Another Card!

by cbaptista on 09/23/2010

So, my site was having issues today.  Ack!  Already?  I just got started!  I discovered this when I went to show my new website to my friend today and it came up all distorted looking.  Of course it did.  How embarrassing!  Fortunately I have a reliable source that I can ask bug about this sort of thing and apparently it has something to do with how the theme was coded.  So, for now, it’s fixed.  The question is whether it will stay fixed.  It took forever to decide on a theme and I really don’t want to start all over again.  This is a nice theme…see how nicely the gallery shows my photos?  And that floral background image?  Sooo pretty.  So, please let the problem be fixed.  Please.  Pretty please??

Alright, now that I got that out of the way…. on to fun stuff.  I recently discovered the world of card submissions for magazine publications.  You send in your best work based on what they’re looking for and if they like it they’ll ask for your card to get professionally photographed and published.  From what I read, it’s a blind judging process each time so every submission has a fair chance.  I recently submitted several of my cards but haven’t heard a thing.  I just wanted to give it a try and see what happens.  The above card is part of a card & tag set that I submitted recently.  (You can see the tag and another card & tag set that was also submitted in my gallery)  Even though it didn’t get picked, I still really like it.  I love the colors and how my handmade flower turned out.  I think the important thing is that I keep creating and designing.  So, these magazine calls will be GREAT for me to keep my creative juices flowing.  Card challenges will be too, but I’m still a little shy towards that.

Anyway, let’s hope my website woes have been fixed so that I can concentrate on more important, creative stuff!

Have a good night!

~Cynthia
